hi. heres me. some of these pics on here look pretty painful, i hope you guys r doing ok...i guess i am lucky mine is not as bad as some but i still feel your pain...i think my curve is like 62 or something..i also have a few degrees of scoliosis but i cant see it... you can see in the first pic i think it is hard to notice, but when i bend over a bit you can see it. i was night braced in high school. my curve only got better a few degrees but it did not get worse so i guess it was a success in that sense. i try to workout to help the core muscles. cosmetically unless i am sitting in a horrible chair it doesnt really bother me much. i get mild pain occasionally. doctor (a back surgeon) says surgery is always an option but does not recommend it for me as it would probably be strictly cosmetic at this point and the risks/recovery is far worse than my curve. no surgery for me now anyway. says continue to workout and stretch therefore if I do need surgery down the road i will be in a much better position to get it and as i get older i will be able to handle the added stress on my back. considering he has kyphosis himself, I trust his judgment.i feel that stretching each day really helps keep me flexible. our backs r very rigid and i feel that is like half the pain of this condition.

Hi Magnumlady

Thanks for posting the picture, your son does have a high kyphotic curve, i just hope you can get some joy and get the treatment your son so obviously deserves

Thanks Mark, I hope so too.
He's started to have chest pains now which I'm guessing is from the curve.

I guess it might be, i do suffer from chest pains from time to time, i get a tightness right accross my chest with a stabbing pain, if i t persists i would go back to your gp and push for a referal to the chest clinic, it could give you the ammo you need to tackle your sons case

i hope that makes sense

Thanks Mark, that's a good idea. His pain sounds very similar to what you describe.
