Cool Schroth Method...

I have been looking at the schroth method of helping with pain associated with scoliosis & find this method interesting. I went to their website & saw they have a book you can purchase..but it's $60 bucks! I was curious if anyone has purchased this book & if it shows all the different stretches of the schroth method/ how to do them or is it just a book explaining what it is in detail? I know there are some places you can go to do the schroth method but there are none close to me I wanted to know before I bought a $60 book..anyone know?

I bought this book several years ago.

I understood none of it. It is too complicated for me.

As owners of their bodies, people have more control than they think. I'm tired of surrendering on exam tables and pleading to doctors, "fix me". Do my best with what I can. Face the fact that I can't do everything. Let the doctors do it. People have so much potential in their aching bones, I see it in them, I see it in me. I want to set us free. Even if I become fused, I will stand by that.

I think with Schroth so difficult to do you really need an experienced therapist with you especially in the beginning.

60 dollars sounds very expensive for a book

It's just that adaptation is very technical, knowing a lot about anatomy and I have to read his posts several times before I understand them (and sometimes I still don't understand them...) so I just leapt to the conclusion that of course he'd understand Schroth. It's comforting, though, to know that he is human

I was considering buying this book too. (there's also no Schroth practitioners where I live. except one, but he's also a chiropractor..) Good to know I should get more background knowledge about anatomy before I buy it.

No posts since last summer on Schroth. I had a PT who worked with me and about 12 others two years ago. We were seeing some results with Schroth, she took courses somewhere in the mid west, came back and just left us cold. I have found no other person who works with this method in the Maryand area.

I'm really sorry to hear that Have you been able to continue to put into practice any of what you learned?
