It is worth a try for people with idiopathic scoliosis - like my daughter. Her problem was that her body was out of balance and the SCENAR is able to stimulate the body's ability to adapt naturally. She was in a brace ( 32 degrees) when we started treatment and she is now straight.

I have read loads of web sites with miracle cures and i have read loads of stuff about who great thiat treatment was then i read it costs a fortue, then i read they have to do the same exercises for the rest of there lives just to maintain the same correction, sorry if i'm pesamistic, just look at my avater i just don't want anyone to look like me in 20 years because they went with some miracle cure that did not work, if you want to read about my life go to the link in my signature go to page 8 and read on, i would not want any parent to suffer like i did and still do both physically amd mentally

Mark, I do agree with you. Over the years I have seen so many of these so called miracle cures as well, and in the long run it has all been for nothing except for the poor patient whose hopes were up so high only to have them dashed, as well as the family. I would like to know how old helengracie your daughter is, as its a real worry, I cant understand how you got onto this in Australia, but I really hope your daughter stays straight.

Operated on in 1966 in Australia. T4 to L3 with Harrington rods, no problems until 10 years ago, and the pain has been on going since. Not complaining, life could be a lot worse.

    Hi Mark and Lorraine,
My daughter is now 17 and straight - thanks for asking! The reason I am on this site now is that I realize that many people do not know that this technology is a CHOICE. I would not want any to get their hopes up - only to be dashed. SCENAR is not a miracle - but when the body auto corrects with the help of a device which stimulates the bodys adaptive processes - then the body creates its own wonders.

At the very least - the SCENAR relieves pain and discomfort. It was actually for this reason that we started using it. The auto correction was a HUGE SURPRISE. Hope that helps you....I can refer people to research etc from Russia if they want to see it. Nothing specifically on SCOLIOSIS - but lots on the mechanism of action and other chronic anc acute conditions. Helen

Forgot to mention she has been straight for 6 years now. I am helping another few mums in the USA with email support who are getting SCENAR treatment from their kids. It is incredible how similar our kids cases have been, I do not for one minute think that SCENAR will help everyone with Scoliosis - but the ones that present like my daughter seem to get help.

Hi Helen, thanks for that but i would like to know exactly how it works and spefically its relationship to scoliosis/kyphosis curves

I wonder why there has been no research in relation to scoliotic or kyphotic curves, if as you say it appears to be a miracle cure

    Hi Mark,

Great question! I will get the info you need and post it. The answer will be in terms of how the SCENAR signal works with the C fibres and how this prompts the natural adaptive processes. I stress AGAIN - the only miracle if one happens is that the body auto corrects. The SCENAR itself does not do it - it just stimulates that response in the body. Helen

We are thrilled it worked for your daughter. I've read the entire Scenar website and other sites attached to it. To quote a movie role. "Show me the money." It is really expensive and I frankly couldn't find one MD in the USA who uses it or reccommends it. If you have a person in Chicago please give me their name. I have a sister who works at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago and I'd like to run it by her and see what she can find through her sources. I also checked with our insurance and they won't cover it at all. Can you give me any names or email addresses to ask other people in the US how it worked for them? Your daughter's curve was relatively small in comparison to most of the people here who have been braced or had surgery. So I wonder if anyone with more of a curve or curves has had luck using it for their scoliosis. I am glad it worked for your daughter and hope it can help others.
I am 61 years old and the resident SSO fossil. I live in Oklahoma,USA with my husband Allen. We have one daughter Jae and she has three kids. Our grandkids are: Aidan is8. He's the one pictured in my current avatar. Jenna Jean is 7 and Ryan Allen is just 4 It's full time chaos here! I was diagnosed in 1965 at 14 years with Kyphoscoliosis and 2 curves measuring 68 and 63 degrees. My last measurements were in 2004 at 155, 88 and 55+ degrees. I have never had surgery or bracing so I now am on full time oxygen and use a Non Invasive Ventilator at night. at night.

    Hi Jean,

    Thanks for the kind words..
I know that Dr Toni Bark MD in Evanston is trained in SCENAR and using it - that is very close to North Western - so perhaps your sister can call her and see what she thinks. The Doctor does not need to have treated someone with scoliosis before in order to start treatments - they do usually need to communicate with their trainer so that they cna be guided through. SCENAR works holistically , the doc does not need to specialize in one disorder - they can treat any part of the body. Dr Donese Worden NMD in Phoenix is having success with her scoliosis patients and I know that one of the moms might join this discussion now that I have told her about this support group. I know quite a few chiropractors and even dentists in Chicago using it but will research what other MD's and get back to you....Helen

I am new here but would like to share some of my experiences with the group. My son who will be 15 in a couple of months has idiopathic scoliosis. About 3 years ago when we first found out he was around 30 degrees and started the bracing. In August of this year was a 67 degree. I have already canceled his surgery once in hope of finding some other way. I researched day and night for something and decided what could it hurt to try the SCENAR. We live about 2000 miles from Arizona but after reading about Dr. Donese Worden decided to give her a call and last week went there and started SCENAR treatments on my son. In hopes that it would just help with his pain, but I seeing more than just that.

Thanks Mark for creating the thread. The title is misspelt - can we change it to SCENAR? PS will have something for you in regards to research from Russia soon. I know that there are plenty still not translated - so I am making a request to see if there has been one done but not translated. Helen
