Default New to Board, Parent of 16 year old son with kyphosis

Hi, Basically I am looking for another orthopedic for my son who is 16. We live in Long Island, New York and last year traveled to Philadelphia Childrens Hospital twice to see a doctor who has since moved to Texas. He was last measured with a curve of 65 degrees.

    Hello and welcome.

To start with, please try and find someone who is a specialist in Kyposis. Normal orthoperidics dont know enough about the condition to treat it to a high standard. Please have a look through this thread http://www.scoliosis-support.org/sho...-and-Australia for an indication of who is available. I know it is mainly scoliosis specialist, but some will also branch out to treating Kyposis.

    Hope this helps,
    Jay.
Diagnosed at 14 in '08 with Neuromuscular Kyposcoliosis (due to my Neurofibromatosis Type 1) in the Thoraco-lumber region (T-65* L60*).
Halo traction for a week then I had surgery 08/05/14, fused C5-T12 correcting curves by about half by the amazing, Mr Bernard.
And then an Anterior Iliac Strut graft in my neck/ chest on the 05/06/14
