Smile One Month Post Op :)

Hi everyone, I can't believe it's been a month already! I have been feeling way better, my breathing and walking has improved greatly. I still have my soreness here and there but I have gotten off my pain meds for a week now So I'm looking forward to great things. I have developed some sciatica pain though and it's been hurting really bad, I was wondering if this is normal? Or am I mistaking it for nerve pain since my left thigh is numb? It's only on my left leg so I'm just wondering. I will include a picture of my xray below! )

Good gravy - that's one AWESOME looking correction! I had some hip pain 5-6 weeks in after my surgery (for kyphosis/scoliosis) and my surgeon told me it was normal as the bones readjusted themselves. It wouldn't hurt to call up your surgeon to ask though - better safe than sorry.

I was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Kyphosis at age 16. I had an 80-degree thoracolumbar kyphosis and mild scoliosis. My posterior fusion surgery was performed by Dr. Sethi in Seattle on Earth Day 2014. It reduced my kyphosis to 50 degrees and my scoliosis to about zero.
