Unhappy 4 months post-op, still feeling depressed..

I'm done with physical therapy. I've gone back to work. Life should be back to normal but I still don't feel like myself.

I'm just still upset about the whole thing. I hate that my only options in...

Re: 4 weeks bit down

I'm sorry you're not feeling any better than you did a couple weeks ago. :( Just remember that your pain medications could be affecting your mood as well, so if you are feeling a bit down that could...

Question Re: Going back to work..

I work at a retail corporate photo studio styling the clothes for pictures, so I do a lot of standing and walking around on concrete floors. I get an hour lunch break but it doesn't do much to help...

Re: Going back to work..

Well, I survived my first day back. The pain surprised me... I didn't think I'd feel it in my lower back as much as I did. I'll definitely have to start taking painkillers throughout the day again....

Re: post op blues

Totally agree, but I would almost say that's an understatement! I was a huge mess for quite a few weeks after surgery. Just very emotional and depressed about the whole thing. I was happy for my...

Re: Going back to work..

Thanks for the advice everyone. Seems like I should have set up a phased return instead of just going back at it full force... Maybe I'll bring that up when I talk to my boss tomorrow and see if I...

Going back to work..

I am 12 weeks post op now, and I have to go back to work this Thursday because my short term disability manager won't approve me to stay home for any longer. I am pretty nervous about going back....

Re: Hello ^^ I'm new :)

Haha, I didn't mean to "scare" you, it's just that this is a very serious, expensive, and painful surgery with a long recovery, so the decision shouldn't be taken lightly. Lots of times, it doesn't...

Re: before shots of my back

Yep, looks familiar. Just like my pre-op curves. You'll be so much happier after your surgery. :)

Re: Hello ^^ I'm new :)

Hello and welcome! To answer your questions, I am naturally a small girl and even I felt fat before my surgery. It's because you're missing that extra height, so you're all squished into a smaller...

Re: 3 month follow-up

I'm so glad things are starting to look up for you, Margaret! I gotta say, getting in the pool feels really nice after 3 months of recovery. It's good exercise and it's very soothing. :) Enjoy your...

Re: Forward Head Syndrome and hand/wrist tingling?

I posted a chart similar to this a few months ago, and almost everyone here told me it was a bunch of garbage. Your "forward head syndrome" is most likely a compensatory curve in your cervical spine...

Re: kyphosis pain level

Ugh, I always hated when they would make me rate my pain. I think pre-op I was saying it was around a 6 or 7? I was in a lot of pain though, I don't know what it's like for you. I'd imagine pretty...

Re: 1week left

Yes, ask them! When they were prepping me for surgery I was so anxious I was almost in tears. After they gave me something to calm me down, it was smooth sailing. Who doesn't like a little happy...

Re: post op brace

I was told before my surgery that a brace would be a possibility, but I didn't end up needing one. I think it's probably different for everybody.

Re: 2weeks pre op

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry about it too much! I made those last couple weeks before surgery hell for myself because I was worrying so much. I was having anxiety dreams...

Re: question about recovery

2-3 months is normal, as long as you have no complications. I am at 2 months post op and I think I could go back to work soon. The thing that worries me about your situation though is what you do for...
