Hi Carol, I don't know how old you are or when you first had surgery (really rubbish memory, sorry) so my experience may not be that relevant to your situation.

Sorry I can't help with the lung stuff but the pinched nerve/sciatic pain is almost certainly caused by Pirifomis pain which is the muscle (Piriformis muscle) being squeezed during the buttocks lifts...
