Re: Kyphosis surgery

Hi Jenny,

I think a month is too soon to get back to 'normal' but it totally depends on you.
My son had the surgery and he did really well. He was up and about more or less straight away but the...

Re: Newly Diagnosed 6 yr old - IRELAND

Best of luck. Mr. Noel was wonderful with Jono.
Jono had his surgery in Tallaght....because Crumlin was just too busy.
Mr. Noel couldn't have done more, he really is a brilliant surgeon.

Re: Rita Simons

I tweeted her too and sent a pic of Jono's before and after....no reply...no surprise.
I'm going to contact the magazine too. It's not a great message to put out there.

Re: Remember Us - Karen Tuohy's Update

Hi Sandra,

Oh you poor things, you are really going through it.
Jono had surgery with Mr. Noel, who I think is fantastic. I've also heard very good things about Mr. Kiely.
They are both consultants...

Re: For everyone who has had spinal fusion to correct Kyphosis...

I've only just read this. Jono went through much the same thing when he turned 13. He was seen by a child psychologist and in the end diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.
I'm not saying it will be the...

Jono was only 8 stone when he went for surgery. He lost around 7lbs as he was recovering. He put it back on though...and more.

He's delighted Mark. He is in pain quite a lot but I think he's resigned to the fact. It's not as bad as it was before.

Re: X-Ray questions

If you are in a lot of pain I would say go for the surgery, if not I would wait and see if the curve progresses. It might not progress anymore.
Although in the end it's up to you.

My son was around 90 degrees. He had surgery in 2009 and is now 37 degrees and he grew 4 inches with the surgery.
It's done wonders for him.
