As Gilly says they have to cover all the bases and let you know the risks

Unfortunately surgery for kyphosis is a little riskier and a bit more brutal than scoliosis surgery

Lots of people have had the surgery in your age bracket, with modern techniques the surgery is not quiet as brutal as it once was. What you need to do is find a surgeon who is experienced...

This is maybe going of a tangent but over the last year or so my elbow is in so much pain that when I grip things (pens being one) pain shoots right up into my elbow and I tend to feel like I'm going...

One bit of advice I would give is make sure you are seen by a spinal surgeon, general ortho's have no idea of the complexities of spinal surgery

My only advice would be careful lifting heavy things, I used to find that I was really in a lot of pain the day after I had done any lifting

I went back after 6 months but I spent two of them in hospital so in reality I was off work for 4 months much like Gilly
