My only advice would be careful lifting heavy things, I used to find that I was really in a lot of pain the day after I had done any lifting

I went back after 6 months but I spent two of them in hospital so in reality I was off work for 4 months much like Gilly

Well I made the call to my surgeons secretary and I'm on the list

She couldn't tell me when or how long I have to wait

Back on the rollercoaster folks

congrats on your surgery

I hope you heal well, quickly and with as less pain as possible

Take care and don't try to do too much, it takes up to 18months for the fusion to take proper hold

I hid myself, i found ways to cope when in crowds, I would always have my back to wall, wore big baggy clothes, coloured my hair weird and wondeerful colours to take attention away from my back
