Thanks Burdle too, I am thinking maybe Mr...

Re: Pen-grip / handwriting problems for those of us with joint hypermobility

I was diagnosed with BJHS last year but looking back it's obvious now that I have it my whole life, though I am less bendy these days.

I can hold a pen in the 'normal' grip without dropping it but...

I'm sure I read somewhere that he was quitting his NHS work at the RNOH? I could be wrong and just imagined that though
He is...

Re: Toning tables

Thanks ladies :)

My Gp is rubbish, I don't trust him enough to know what is best for me, he'd most likely say something along lines of 'you know your body best' which is not very helpful.

I think I...

Hi Sue,

Only just found out what happened today, I have been very busy with work which had in turn made me very tired and not on FB much, I thought Ron had been a bit quiet but had no idea that...

Re: The fear is seeping in...

I just want to reiterate what Gilly and gcyp have said about people without pain and ongoing problems don't tend to seek help from a forum as they don't need it and are merrily going about their...

Re: How SHOULD your rods feel??

I have ongoing pain pretty much 24/7 but it's not from the rods, I can't and never have been able to 'feel' them, all I ever felt straight after surgery was a stiffness but even that I don't feel...

Re: Other aches and pains...

Hi Carol, I don't know how old you are or when you first had surgery (really rubbish memory, sorry) so my experience may not be that relevant to your situation.

I had my first surgery at 15 in 1991...

My daughter is 6 weeks post op and had Cobalt-Chromium Rods, she is doing really well.

Her surgeon, Mr Shaw at the RNOH said they were stronger and less brittle than Titanium.

Before the surgery...

From another Mum's point of view here, me!

I have had 2 surgeries (see my signature below) and recently my daughter, Ciara had surgery too.

Re: Daughter told she will need surgery.

I'm sorry to hear Flo will have to have surgery but hopefully if she has it while the curve is small she will avoid having to have a larger surgery later on.

I also wanted to say that Ciara has...

Re: Worried

They said she 'only' lost about 400mls of blood during the op so they did not think a blood transfusion was necessary.
She was prescribed iron pills by the Gp last Friday they are quite strong, she...

Re: Pain in spine and lungs when sleeping on back

Sorry I can't help with the lung stuff but the pinched nerve/sciatic pain is almost certainly caused by Pirifomis pain which is the muscle (Piriformis muscle) being squeezed during the buttocks lifts...

Re: Have you gotten taller?
