Re: Seeking hope

Hi

Kyphosis in adult is considered normal to 50-55degrees. Mild is up to 70 about. They usually start recommending surgery at around 75 degrees plus. Once it reaches 90-100 often the health starts...

Re: will a doctor do surgery

What Jaymoe says is true. Most likely they would prescribe mild pain killers and or some type of physiotherapy.

Re: compensatory curves

I wasn't ever given proper physio just a few stretchs. I do walk quite alot and really suffer if I don't. The part that bothers me is that since 3months po the curve has progressed so far.

I'm taking orphenadrine for the muscle spasms but its not healthy to take it every day. The xray shows m pelvis is dead straight at bottom but my one hip seems larger.

Re: will a doctor do surgery

Hi

Unfortunately no good doctor would operate on mild kyphosis. Often in an adult they can only correct it to about 40-50 degrees. Its really not worth the risk and pain of the procedure.

Re: can anyon tell me what a mri does for kyphosis

Mri can see more things like soft tissue and spinal fluid discs etc. Should help see if there's anything non bone related going on.

Re: compensatory curves

Has anyone had any success using the the lifts? They didn't seem entirely sure if it was the leg or the dpine causing the curve. I think it might be linked to the spasms.

Thanks ange
