Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

Yeah being told to touch your toes and bend backwards at 3 weeks is a bit much! Ouch! Was it someone recommended by the hospital? I felt confident with mine because she was directly recommended by...

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

Your doctor *may* take off restrictions at around a month- mine did. Then in physio they had me bending quite a lot. It's a little alarming at first, you think you're going to bend the hardware, but...

Re: Yet another 3 month update :)

Whooooo! Go Jay! It's great you got the op done in time to start your college life. (This is your first year, isn't it?)

You've been my 'sound board' (to steal Mrs. Krier's word XD) since your...

Re: Scolosis Surgery purely for cosmetic reasons?

Mari who was your doctor? I had mine done at Baylor with Dr. O'Brien three months ago. Had a great outcome with them as well.

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

Aw thanks Indie, Jay, Mrs Krier, Gilly & Ed! It's nice to drop in with the odd progress report, even if nothing major has happened :) I can't express enough how comforting it is to have met you guys...

Re: Scolosis Surgery purely for cosmetic reasons?

Though the cosmetic side is fantastic, I avoided the surgery for 6 years until it got out of control (88 degrees). The prospect of it going over 100 and getting into "special case" territory was too...

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

Well I just had my 3-month check-up with the doc. Thought I'd post a "post-post-op correction" pic….. I realize that's a lot of "posts."

I know a lot of people are weirded out by how they look...

Re: Good luck for the 29th Mrs Krier!

Looks absolutely awesome Mrs Krier! Your doctor really nailed it (ba-dum tssssh). It's still early days, and by the sounds of it you've passed your first, most difficult tests with flying colors....

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

The good ole' bone stimulator- what a strange device! Do they make you wear yours for a long time each day? Mine is just 30 minutes.

That's brilliant to hear that you've crossed a pain threshold....

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

If it's memory foam, that'll probably do the trick! Apologies this is quite a late reply- hope you're feeling even better a week down the line :) That's great to hear that you went out at under 2...

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

Ahhhh Mrs Krier I'm so sorry it's been such a trying time. I know words won't help with your current discomfort, but I think that at 10 days you're making great progress! Baby steps, remember! If you...

Re: Good luck for the 29th Mrs Krier!

I bet they are!! >:| That's very irksome that they didn't bother following the doctor's orders. If they send you a hospital survey in a week or two you should definitely write down all these...

Re: Good luck for the 29th Mrs Krier!

Is it possible to upload to Flickr from your phone? For mine I actually e-mailed my phone pics to myself, opened them on my main computer, THEN uploaded to Flickr.

Congratulations for getting through it Mrs. Krier! I knew you could :)

You should feel proud of yourself (A very gentle pat on the back is in order!). Even though you were scared, and even though...

Re: post op-can anyone HELP me??

Welcome to the forum James! I'm almost 2 months post op, fused T2-L1 and I can assure you that it gets infinitely better mobility-wise. I've been in physio for almost a month and am able to bend and...

Re: Good luck for the 29th Mrs Krier!

Big e-Hugs Mrs. Krier!

I admit I wept the night before mine (REALLY wept!) thinking I was dooming myself to being "in the system" for life. But…. I'm nearing month 2, have seen the doctor just once...

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

I know exactly what you mean! I was the exact same way up until surgery- I met with the doctor in December and didn't have the operation until June, so there were a few months of it gnawing in the...

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

Doing great indiekelly! I'm back at work (the 40 minute commute doesn't feel any different, even checking my blind spots) and I've been doing physiotherapy for a few weeks. I feel pretty much back to...

Re: Good luck for the 29th Mrs Krier!

You'll do fine, girl! The surgeons know what they're doing & they'll take good care of you. Meds and rest really make the time fly by too, so it'll be over before you know it. I remember lying in the...

Re: Physio

Hey there! I've been in physio for about three weeks (had the op T2-L1 June 2nd) and I've found it really helpful. They reassure you about what you can do and will give you exercises to practice for...

Re: Introduction- Surgery in 3 days

Hey Jay! Hope you're doing well, recovery partner! XD I'm feeling great- I'm no longer on any meds, (I take the occasional teaspoon of kids' tylenol if needed) and things are definitely getting back...
