Re: 2 Weeks Post Op

Glad to hear you are doing well. Emily is now 11 weeks post op and I remember well having that problem with the brace, which we initially really struggled with. Getting it on while she was in bed was...

Re: Tiredness after op.

Thank you all for your response. Emily sleeps well - I still have trouble getting her up in the mornings, and she goes to bed before 9 every evening, usually way before that. I notice shannonbb, that...

Re: Tiredness after op.

Thank you Shannonbb, you are exactly the same stage as Emily so that's really useful. It makes me wonder why the hospital literature says what it does - it only causes people like me to worry!
Gilly,...

Good luck Centelleo and Becky Rosen

Just wanted to send good wishes to Centelleo and her mum Becky Rosen going into RNOH tomorrow for surgery. Daunting though it seems at the moment I am witness to the fact that it does get better, and...

Re: Before and After Pictures of Emily

I think the problem for her is that she is so tall, almost 5'10 now, and it's her upper body that has lengthened since the op obviously which is quite marked on the X ray. She says she has to lean...

Re: Before and After Pictures of Emily

I think she is taller, maybe a couple of inches. Certainly her upper body has lengthened and her hips are symmetrical now, although her shoulders are not. She was nearly 5'8 before surgery! Her...

Re: When can my daughter play the flute again after surgery?

Emily had a try this morning at playing her flute for the first time since the op. The sound is fine, and her breathing is ok. She's a bit rusty, but that's only to be expected. The pain she gets in...

I'm glad this was on here as my daughter is now 4 weeks post op and still gets physically very tired. At the moment I can't see her being able to last the day at school. The hospital (RNOH) said to...

Re: Emily's 2 weeks post-op update.

I think the temperature comes on when she is tired in the evenings - it's still happening, but not every night. She is still very tired though, and needs to lie down often, which I'm presuming is...

For the last few nights Emily has had a high temperature and feels unwell in the evenings, which lasts all night, but then she wakes up fine in the morning. She also...
