Hi Mary,

As far as I know, blood transfusions are onlyneccessary when the curve is very rigid. I had an 80 degrees curve and had 4 units transfused but really this shouldn't worry you. They recycle...

1) If she isn't wearing a brace pre-op I very much doubt she'll have to wear one post-op.

Mine stick out at the bottom too and it does hurt when I lie on a hard surface but it's just due to me being very narrow (from side view) as well as thin.
