Re: Can scoliosis cause cognitive problems?

If the symptoms occur only in severe cases as you stated, I'm not particularly worried about my 30+/- curve.:) I will however schedule an appointment just to make sure.

I decided to reconsider the...

Re: How do you lay down?

Sometimes I feel little discomfort when lying on the concave side, so I turn to the opposite. But every case is different, I guess.

Re: awaiting appointment....expectations? :(

My mom's old highschool friend is a certified Schroth therapist who lives only 30mins away from my house. Since I already downloaded and studied the book, I'm pretty familiar with the whole schroth...

Re: awaiting appointment....expectations? :(

Not worried, I'm feeling rather sad and desperate because my scoliosis went untreated in adolescent years. Cannot believe that all the doctors I regularly visited were so ignorant, or was it just an...

Re: Does a spinal curve change depending on body position?

Uhmm...it's pretty hard to desribe if you're unfamiliar with the anatomy of the spine and thus unable to visualize how scoliosis affects the vertebrae.
Basically, Adam's forward bending test is used...

Smile What does it feel like to have a fused spine?

An interesting thought just popped in my head...sorry if this has been answered already.
If we put all the things you can do aside, what does it feel like to have a fused spine? Never had the...

Re: awaiting appointment....expectations? :(

How come you're not a fan of Schroth, if I may ask?
Regarding the curvature type...I'd say it's a thoracic curve (apex T9-10), rather than a thoracolumbar. About the Cobb angle - Don't know, I...

Re: awaiting appointment....expectations? :(

Today I finally had an x-ray done.... unfortunately I've only been given films, still awaiting results (radiologist's note?) and pictures on a cd. This could take a while so for now I'm going to...

Re: ali1234

I personally knew a person who was due for surgery, suffering from some kind of a dislodged disc something, or other injury. - I can't recall the details, it's been a while. After seeing a...

Re: ali1234

I would never choose a chiropractor over an experienced physiotherapist (Schroth certified, preferably). Just my two cents.

Re: MRI / Surgery wait @ Stanmore

6 months? That's not much at all! Here in my country, there are but a few experienced spinal surgeons and waiting lists are huge... People wait up to 3-4 years to get a surgery.
Hopefully your 33th...

Re: Certified Schroth Practitioners around the world

Any young adults in here that experienced benefits of this method? By any chance managed to de-rotate the spine which resulted in a rib hump reduction? There's a certified Schroth therapist in my...

Re: awaiting appointment....expectations? :(

Out of curiosity - compared to other types, is thoracolumbar scoliosis surgery easier or harder to perform? have you guys been satisfied with the results? (degree of correction). Which one is worse,...

Re: awaiting appointment....expectations? :(

After carefully observing my spine from every angle, it certainly seems like at least a moderate curve, not mild. Oh well, won't jump to conclusions just yet, going to wait for the xrays.

Other than...

Re: Worried about my spinal fusion healing

As you probably know already, recovery rate is highly individual. Meaning, while instructions such as "no heavy lifting for X months" should be obeyed, failure to do so affects every person...

Re: restless nights, does orthepedic pillows help

Hey,

I've been scheduled for an appointment in 2 months and with my growing concerns about scoliosis, it's an awful lot of time to wait...Just thought I'd share my story with you guys...
