Re: Still crooked and school...

Hi Brace Yourself. Another factor with my daughter was that she lost a lot of weight following the surgery which accenuated all the lumps and bumps of bones/metalwork beneath the skin. It took her a...

Re: Help! at my wits end and totally depressed

I'm so sorry for your suffering. You need to see someone else. You need to trust them and have confidence in them. We changed our daughter's consultant because of a bad bedside manner which freaked...

Re: Fusion before stopped growing

Hi there. My daughter had growth rods from the age of 7 til 10. She was fused at 10 years 11 months because her spine had grown too stiff and had caused the growth rod to break! When they do spinal...

Re: Pen-grip / handwriting problems for those of us with joint hypermobility

A quick update. Last Friday I emailed Maddy's year head with my concerns and asked what the process was in terms of assessing whether she is entitled to extra time in exams. He replied that the SENCO...

Re: Pen-grip / handwriting problems for those of us with joint hypermobility

I showed Maddy your post and she is ecstatic! She held a pen next to your photo images and her grip is exactly the same as yours! Her hand cramps when she tries to write properly. I am definitely...

Re: Pen-grip / handwriting problems for those of us with joint hypermobility

Toni, Maddy writes vertically up the page with the paper turned 90 degrees from 'normal'! She hasn't complained about writing taking a long time but she prints rather than writing joined up. I will...

Re: Magnetic Rods - Delay in Treatment- Risks/Complications

Dear Lorraine,

I know the awfulness of having to wait. Scoliosis consumes your thoughts. I do understand. The reality is, even if you could see Mr Noordeen next week, it would be very unlikely he...

Re: Mr Tucker resigning from Stanmore! :-(

Gosh this is a surprise. Though I always thought how dumb it was that he had a clinic at Stanmore on the morning of the same day he had his afternoon clinic at GOSH. He was often stuck in traffic and...
