I think it's high time we put a list of American, Canadian and Aussie consultants who have treated SSO members. So if anyone would like to add their info, we'll try and create a more user friendly list for future members.Your help would be very much appreciated.
Please be aware that this list is not exhaustive or comprehensive. It only represents doctors who are known to have treated members of this site, and there are plenty of good specialists out there who may well not be listed here.

Deirdre was treated by Dr. Hedden until last summer and now she is being treated by Dr. Charles Rivard at Ste. Justine Hospital in Montreal. Here are the websites:
Douglas M Hedden, MD, FRCSC
Stollery Children's Hospital

Is that the Dr. Hedden who moved forom the Toronto Hospital to Edmonton? He's my friend's dad!! (I made friends with her before I knew who her dad as, don't worry!).
Never mind, just saw link.
That's the one ! :-D What a small world !! Edmonton is Sooooo lucky to get Dr. Hedden !!! I still can't understand why he left Toronto for Edmonton ??? WHAT is out there anyway ???? Maybe some tumbleweed, cowboys ? I can't imagine he's busy at all :-o
Well the hospital he's at now treats lots of kids, from all over Alberta and BC and Sak. and NWT and Yukon..... and he's head of pediatric surgery. So that is why he came. And we have malls and movie theaters... it's not like we're rednecks or anything.
You made me smile :-D I was only joking, I am aware that Edmonton is a heavily populated city. I do know the move to Edmonton was a good one for Dr. Hedden and I hope he's happy there. Yet... Sick Kids will never be the same without Dr. Hedden. Oh well, we're commuting to Montreal to see Dr. Rivard and we're very pleased with everything.
I knew you were just joking. I think he's happy here but my friend is going back to boarding school in Toronto..... :(
Ian is seen by Dr. Khoury at Shriners Children's Hospital in Erie, PA.
I was treated by Dr. David McCord at Centennial Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee
Dr. Ian Torode
Private Consulting Rooms
Royal Children's Hospital
Phone no. +614 03 9347 4275
Treated by/surgery by:
Robert Pashman, MD
Los Angeles, CA
I was treated by Dr. John Lonstein
Minnesota Spine Center
in 1988 (age 40) and was pleased with my care. As an adult I was interested in finding a doctor who performed 'many' adult surgeries and learned of Dr. Lonstein through researching the medical library at the University of AL Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. His name was found repeatedly in various research. I corresponded with him for 12 years via mail - sending x-rays etc, - prior to my first 'face to face' with him.
18 years post op I have some chronic 'greater trochander bursitis' which is annoying but tolerable. I have a rod broken in my upper back-probably means a weekness in the fusion.
Hi Jean! :welcome2: good to see you here....
