A few fields to allow you to share some of your scoliosis history if you want to.
- What type of spinal curvature?
- Congenital Scoliosis
- Diagnosis Details
- Diagnosed in early teens with AIS, specialist decided at age 17 that my S-bend was well-balanced & no action required (& no investigaton done of my very small cavus foot). No further investigation until I was 40 at which time curve measured 45 degrees & diastematomyelia (split spinal cord) discovered via MRI. I now realise the split cord in fact caused the scoliosis & it is therefore not AIS but congenital.
- What curve pattern?
- Primary thoracic with one or more compensatory curves
- Had surgery?
- No surgery
- Worn a brace?
- No brace
Congenital scoliosis (no treatment), diastematomyelia; aged 52.
