- Scoliosis History
A few fields to allow you to share some of your scoliosis history if you want to.
- What type of spinal curvature?
- Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis
- Diagnosis Details
- I was diagnosed at 10 y/o with Scoliosis, it's Idiopathic but runs in my family as my Granny, Cousin, Aunty and Mum have it too. I am the only one who has needed surgery! I have one main totacolumbar curve which is now mainly fused along with 2 compensatory curves which weren't operated on.
- What curve pattern?
- Primary thoracolumbar with one or more compensatory curves
- Curve Pattern Details
- Main left direction thoracolumbar curve along with compensatory right thoracic curve and even higher left direction curve nearing my neck...
- Had surgery?
- Anterior surgery
- Surgery Details
- I had a 5 or 6 hour operation and I had the anterior approach... Mr Lam, my surgeon took out my rib and deflated my lung, took down my diaphragm and more all in order to get to my spine. The rib was used as a bone graft to fuse my spine from T11-L3 with one rod and 5 really cool screws! :o)
