Dee, don't give up, hon. You know you've got the ball rolling. You are awaiting tests, and you're consulting with a specialist now. There's hope for relief very soon. *gentle hug* In the meantime, just go back to your GP and remind him that he said to give the pills you've got a try, and you did... then tell him they're not helping and you'd like to try something different. Hopefully, it'll be temporary anyway.

Aww Dee I wish I knew how to help :squeeze: it's so unfair that you're having such a hard time :squeeze: Go to the GP and try and get other pills, be strong and tell him that they aren't helping you and you need something stronger, you can't go on like this. :(

It never hurts to have one pissed Mom carrying a loaded purse with her to get a doctor's notice. Tell Mom to swing once for the fossil.

Hi Dee :squeeze: :squeeze: sending you a double hug from me and Ryan :D Hopefully you'll get some pain relief today when you see the doc.Boy would I love to see your mum in action..if she's anything like mine you'll come out with a bagful LOL just hoping you get something that works for you..they prescribe all these pills and they say 'oh it works for so and so' but its hard when you're first trying to find one that suits you!! Have you tried solphadeine? I suffer from a right dodgy back I have sciatica due to an old sports injury I damaged a nerve at school and due to it being stretched every so often it gets trapped and it kills! I get 'locked up 'totally and the boys are trained to roll me out of bed  Solphadeine tends to work for me it doesnt stop the pain totally but I can at least function and most importantly get to sleep with them...

Aww, Dee, sorry to hear you're feeling sore and fed up. Totally understandablem and I hope you get some sympathy and pills from the doc today. Just after having Erin I was given codeine for pain relief. Apparently it was the strongest they could give me, but I can't say it helped that much. Mostly I remember it just giving me chronic constipation, although that might have been having the baby too.

Good luck - let us know how you get on. And here's a hug from us too :squeeze:

6th December 2004, 05:52 PM
just adding to what Andrea said really about the codeine..there is a similar one to solphadeine that the docs issue its callad co-codamol,I used that before and its pretty good too :D (please note I'm not a junkie LOL I only use these in moderation when desperate!!)

6th December 2004, 07:25 PM
Yes, that's the one I had.

Hope you sleep better tonight Dee.
