Thought I'd make this a new thread as it could be interesting to see...

mine's about 26 cm.

My anterior scar (covering T12-L3) is about 8.5" long (22cm) and my posterior scar is about 14" long (covering T3-L3) (36cm).

I thought you said 8cm for a second there... boy did that confuse me!

hmmm.....just over 31cm.It's a zipper from neck to end....I have a long fusion.I guess the length of posterior scar will vary according to Torso length.Mine would be shorter than Liv's or Titch's.

Yes, I've got 15 levels fused so I have a scar from the base of my neck to my hips, but it's probably a lot shorter than most people's scars cos I am short anyway! :D

I dont know exactly how long my fusion scar is? because its connected to both my neck and lower back scars from previous surgery but I will measure it later

Mines about 12"

I'm beginning to think I did something wrong with my measuring because mine turns out to be 48cm, which would be 18.9 inch. But it does cover my entire back so it might be right.

My anterior scar is 30cm in length. It is unusually long for an anterior incision because I had the thoracoplasty done during the same surgery and through the same scar. Plus, I'm a tad lanky.

Mine is 20 cms :D The shortest yet? My surgeon was impressed that he had managed to make it that small :P

How are you guys measuring? It involves getting an assistant, doesn't it?

For the ones who've had posterior, I guess

no, not really.. I used mirrors and a piece of cord because I couldn't find our measure-thingy. I just held the top of it on the top of my scar and then saw where it ended. I do have to say that I'm quite bendy with my arms, I apply nivea on my scar too, no help needed. That might be why I could do this

Good idea... Tricking, but clever. It's going to require a bit of coordination on my part. My scar isn't straight, either. The incision might've been straight when they were opening me, but after the correction my scar was curved. Or something.

Just a tad. :-D ;-)

My posterior scar (T3-L2) is 33 cm long (13 inches) and my anterior is about 22 cm long (8.5") (which is just like Jonny)! :niceone:

My posterior scar is 19.5inches/49.5cm long, and my anterior scar is unusually long anyway, but a bit longer still now that I'm such a chubby devil - that one's 18inches/45.75cm.

The anterior fusion is from T12-L2, with the 2 discs removed, and the posterior fusion is now from T3-L4 :-)

can you all see your scars? or is it just a silver/white line?

Okay. You won! ;-)

I think that my posterior scar is less visible than my anterior, Abbi. But they are both still white/pink-ish.

obviously you can still see mine, tomorrow will be my 4 month anniversary. It has gone from very red to just red, a bit lighter on top but I have no clue how that happened..

My back scar is 17 inches (43 cm) long. The bone graft one on my hip is 7 cm- not quite 3 inches.

And just for fun: The one on my abs (not scoliosis related) is 20 cm (8 inches)

Scar visibility- my abdominal scar is pretty visible. It's a little over a cm wide in some spots, but hair thin in others...
My back scar is very thin- looks like a little white pencil line mostly, except for the first inch or so, which is about 3 cm wide, because one of my stitches abscessed.
The hip scar is pretty yucky. Around 1 cm wide too, and puffy too.

My scar is pink, with white dots on the side :D It looks great at the top, and it's quite white there. But further down I can feel it better, and it's more pink. But I like it :P

I just had my mom measure and it is 18 inches  wow thats long but maybe she connected it to my other scars

Mine's pinkish white. My surgery was, however, only a year ago, so I expect it to fade more.

My anterior scar (the only one I can see) is a light red/white for most of the length, and the ends and a bit in the middle are a little wider (1/4 inch) and purple. It feels healed and strong :-D
