Yeah, it happens to some people on here.I find in my case if my neck is in spasm or aching badly i get a long lasting headache with it.if I cough it feels so extreme that it seems like I'm having a stroke......like you say medication is not so good to control it....it usually passes in a day or two though for me.Try to relax and it will help a bit.And I really sympathise with you.......you have such high levels of pain.Any progress finding a better doctor?

yes actually. i dont have a doctor but spoke to a better spine doctor who gave me the best advice. he said the reason why i should go to hospital is because they cant turn me down and they will either put me in surgery asap, or send me to a specialist who will take insurance to make surgery appointment. oh my head! he asked about what i have and my symptoms and he said that i will definatley need surgery and shouldnt wait long for symptoms will get worse and even surgery may not fix.
so now i got to get mentally ready to do this which im totally not.

With two small children myself I can certainly understand your reluctance to put yourself into hospital at the moment. You really need to make good arrangements to have them taken care of and be ok with it yourself before you'd want to go to hospital.
I'm pleased your doctor is being helpful and I guess he gives good advice.Good luck with your decision as only you can tell when the time is right for you to do this.

a few times a month I have horrible headaches on the left side of my head that won't go away unless I sleep (which is quite annoying if it starts at noon...)
I asked my doc about this and she thought it might have to do something with my neck. My ortopedic surgeon said it didn't.. so now I still don't know what is causing this. I don't know if it's migraines

I get neck related headaches, which are often similar to migraines (including nausea and light sensitivity), and treating the pain can be quite difficult. For trying to treat it yourself I'd suggest using either ice or heat (Pikey swears by ice, I can't use it because it makes things worse, heat works wonders for me, so whatever works for you really) to help relieve the shoulder and neck, I've also found that Deep Relief gel, which is Ibuprofen and Menthol gel, really helps to soothe things.

Basically anything which helps relax the muscles and stop me from guarding the area so badly tends to help me.

I'm really glad that you've finally met a useful doctor, even if the answers weren't entirely what you would have liked to hear. At least now you know that there is a way forward when you feel ready to take it :-)

I get awful headaches at least once a week. I use excedrin migraine. It doesn't work all the time though. I'm sorry I can't be of much help, as I'm trying to get rid of my headaches too. I hope your's gets better!
