View Full Version : 3 month post-op check-up
1st October 2004, 10:48 AM
After forgetting it was three months since my surgery (28th) I've got my second check-up today. I've got lots of questions to ask him so this should be a good appointment. Maybe even some new xrays, I don't know. Anyway, I'll keep you updated on how it goes.

I'm back. It went well, everything was good and I've got some new xrays. They're like a close up on the fusion (T4-L4, not L3 as we assumed). I asked what type of instrumatation they used, but I've allready forgotton the name. I'll search for it on google later. He said it was american and that they used a 3D computer to see where they had to put the screws. He did seem surprised I've had all these questions :-) I don't think he knows where I got all that information. It was funny :-)
I'll take a pic of my xrays tomorrow and put them online asap.

Oh fantastic!! Your x-rays are the best I've ever seen - they are amazing, a real asset to this site :-) I'm glad everything went well and you're healing properly :D

I've been irritating myself all night to find the name of the procedure again and I did it :-) It was Monarch (which I don't think is the instrumentation, but the procedure) http://www.depuyacromed.com/products/deformity/monarch55.asp
I'll find my digital camera after dinner and take the pics :-)

Oh wow! There's a doctor I've been looking into in my area that uses the same instrumentation. He's also recommended by Consulting Orthopaedics. I think I'll look into that. :niceone:
