Hello,

I'm new and would like to know if anyone has experience with a hemivertebra excision/spinal fusion operation?

Thank you!

Urm... me. *pokes siggy* What do you want to know?

Mind you, I was an infant at the time, so, I can only tell you what I know from my medical record. No real first-hand experience. My memories don't really start until 2-1/2 or 3 years old.

I had a fusion for congenital scoliosis caused by hemiverterbrae when I was 13 in 1979.

Smurf (Sarah) who posts here very occasionally had a vertebra excised as part of her fusion surgery. Also, we did have someone who posted a couple of times about their daughter who was going to have a vertebra excised as it was wedged in such a way as to cause a very severe cervico-thoracic kyphosis - I'll see if I can remember enough to dig up the message concerned.
