Hi all,
- Took xrays and looks good no loose screws, (in my back that is) haha. I dont want to look at the xrays until the pain is gone!
- Doc wants me to ween off Oxcy, which I have..have experienced pain but decreases daily and find applying frozen peas wrapped in towels helpful.
- I have a list of activity restrictions and was hoping to break some records, (rollercoasters this summer, etc.) but I was told that the they can't tell if the fushion is working properly for at least one year so the restrictions are there for a reason.....yikes can't imagine going through this again!
-Received my insurance papers and covered only for 7 wks....even the Doctor stated that this is crazy and they have no idea of the recovery process...looks like I should be back to work after 14 wks and maybe part-time at first.
-I try to utilize the treadmill daily...we have experienced a lot of rain in California. I am up to 2 miles under 40 minutes and find this helps with the blues and the pain. I will be starting physical therapy this week. I am trying to look for a therapist that is experienced working with patients that have had back surgery.
-Everyday is a challenge and sometimes it seems that I am taking 2 steps back...just have to remind myself that is a long recovery.
Well that is it for now. I have next 12 week post op appointment May 23rd.
