I have just had confirmation that i have my first appointment with an orthopaedic consultant since the first and last one in 1984.

Lets hope this one goes better than the last and i do not get shown the door because i want a straight back for cosmetic reasons as well as wanting to be able to breath properly and not be in constant pain.

The appointments for the 22nd of June so June and July are going to be busy months moving house and becoming a dad :rox: and now my appointment. After a really bad start to the year things are at last looking up for a change.

That's great news Mark.Who are you going to see and at which hospital?
Good luck with it and I hope they'll be able to do something to help you.
If they feel that they can't, don't be shy about asking for a referral to somewhere else where they might have better facilities. You've certainly got an exciting summer ahead. :bounce:

Good luck, Mark!

I should have an appointment with a GP in early June, where I'll ask for a referral to a specialist for my first appointment since 1990. I intend to push hard to get surgery, too. Maybe we'll go through it at the same time.

Good luck with the appointment. If they feel they can't help you don't be shy in asking them why not and what else can be done that will best suit you and what you're after and getting any answers you're after :-)

20 YEARS!? :|

Worst case of procrastination I've heard of recently. Heh, j/k, atleast you've decided to go to a good place by the sounds of it. Good luck with your appointment and bring handcuffs (so you can cuff yourself to the chair incase you 'get shown the door ')
